GUN RENOVATION SERVICES

There's nothing more satisfying for us than to see the look on our customers' faces when we are able to return a tired looking piece back to its former glory.

Whether it's an old English gun that's been in the family for generations or a modern Continental gun that's showing signs of wear we pride ourselves in being able to breathe new life back into your prized possession/trusted companion.

RE-BLACKING OF BARRELS

Over time the original blueing on your barrels can wear due to rust / pitting. Re-blacking the barrels is a perfect way to make your gun look like new again.

RE-CHECKERING

With constant use the checkering on your grip will dull off leading to grip problems. We can re-cut the checkering to ensure a crisp finish which will help with grip. To prevent the gun from slipping in your should we can also checker / re-checker the butt.
BARREL-SLEEVING
If your barrels have been honed over time to remove any pitting or rust then you may find that they are out of Proof and therefore considered dangerous to shoot. We can replace the old barrels with new tubes by affixing them to the original monobloc and fundamentally prolonging the life of your gun for many years to come. Alternatively you may have been unfortunate enough to have a barrel burst on you due to a stuck wad or some other obstruction in the barrel or a loose choke. Or perhaps the barrels have been damaged in some way. Again, we can utilise this same method to allow you to continue shooting your gun.
SHORT CHAMBER LENGTH
Do you have an older gun that was designed for shorter / older cartridges but finding these difficult to source or even rather an expensive option when you do? We have invested in the latest tooling which means we can lengthen the chambers to allow you to continue shooting using modern cartridges. Please feel free to drop in or give us a call to discuss your needs.
REJUVENATING WOODWORK & OIL FINISHING
Over time your woodwork can pick up dents & scratches, dull off with wear, or conversely get completely full of oil if one has been over-enthusiastic with the oil bottle.
The example below had a rubber slip-on pad which had been on there for a while and had stained the wood, and leaving a rather unattractive finish.
We removed the staining, sanded the wood and it's ready for an oil finish befitting of this lovely piece of wood.
Almost completed best London oil finish on a lovely pair of Purdeys.
